Guests love to explore the thirty acres of 18th Century parkland. It was created by Humphry Repton and more recently restored by the outstanding gardener, Penelope Hobhouse who, in the late 70s, was commissioned by the previous owners of Ston Easton Park to restore and redesign the kitchen garden into ‘compartment’ areas of interest. At the same time, she designed the rose garden and the cutting garden which are still here today and are now being restored.
Simply sit and listen to the soothing sound of the River Norr or thrill your senses with a stroll through the cutting garden, source of the fresh flowers at Ston Easton Park.
Garden tours taken by our Head Gardener include some history of the garden and a number of do’s and don’ts for all budding gardeners. Garden Tours are given throughout the Spring and Summer months and can be arranged when making your booking with us.
If golf is your game, there are mid-week golfing breaks available. There is a tennis court within the grounds, and guests can borrow the hotel’s croquet set for a gentle game on the front lawn. The Billiard Room situated ‘below stairs’ at Ston Easton Park is also available to guests. If you desire a more testing activity, a variety of country pursuits is available.
