Summer is now upon us and we have so much to look forward to! Come and join us in Somerset over the warmer months – there’s plenty happening…
Worthy Farm, Pilton
Arguably the UK’s most famous music event with up to 200,000 people in attendance, Glastonbury Festival is less than 30 minutes from our country house hotel. With an ever-expanding line-up, this year is set to be wonderful with a whole host of different acts across 16 stages. If you want to do it without the mud you know where we are!
Jane Austen Festival Bicentenary Regency Costumed Summer Ball
The Guildhall, Bath
A celebration of Northanger Abbey and the life of Jane Austen with an evening of dancing, live entertainment and a two course buffet. This celebratory ball is a costumed event, in the style of the Regency or 18th Century period and will provide a lovely way to spend a Summer night.
15th-16th July 2017
An iconic Somerset event featuring show-jumping, live cookery, local artisan produce and even a Lancaster Bomber fly-past, not forgetting the highly-anticipated Grand Parade.
Bristol Harbour Festival 2017
This celebration of Bristol’s historic harbour brings you a full weekend of arts, circus, dance, music, and good food for the whole family. To launch the weekend, the 20-piece Outlook Orchestra will perform a 100 minute set at Colston Hall, marking its 150th anniversary.
Taunton Flower Show
Vivary Park, Taunton
4th and 5th August
The longest running regional show in the nation gives green-fingered enthusiasts the chance to display their work in competitive classes, as well as providing the public with a fun family day out. Over the two day period there are many things on offer: horticultural traders, crafters and marching band performances, as well as a wine show and a bees and honey show. It is also dog-friendly (like us!) and will have a special children’s zone too.
Bristol International Balloon Fiesta
Ashton Court, Bristol
Free to visit, this is Europe’s largest annual meeting of hot air balloons from across the globe, with over 150 hot air balloons in attendance. With hot air balloons filling the skies, it’s a sight to behold and visitors can also enjoy a range of trade stands, fairground rides and entertainment.
